The structure is located near a private residence in the Istra district of the Moscow region, on the bank of a pond at the edge of a picturesque mixed forest.
The pavilion takes the form of a snow tower whose silhouette stands out against the winter landscape. It was envisioned as the image of an ephemeral, elusive dream, mysterious and majestic, with a subtle sacred presence. Built from carefully assembled snow blocks, the structure embraces the inherent fragility of its material. The choice of snow is intentional: it symbolically expresses transience and vulnerability. The pavilion is temporary by nature. It was created to melt and ultimately disappear.
Illuminated from within, the tower emits a soft, diffused glow that transforms its surroundings. In the evening, «Kaplitsa» radiates shifting warm and cool tones, emerging vividly against the backdrop of a snow covered, dormant winter landscape.
The changing lights are at once enigmatic and dramatic. They invite visitors inside while shaping a fairy tale atmosphere with a subtly otherworldly character. «Kaplitsa» represents the translation of an abstract, elusive idea from the «world of ideas» into physical reality. The project embodies both creation and dissolution, echoing the natural cycle of birth and death.
